Course Overview

What this course is designed to develop

Most men in recovery do not fall in a hundred different ways. They fall the same three ways, in the same handful of moments, over and over. The trigger hits, the urge climbs, and the old behavior runs before they feel like they ever got a vote. Break the Pattern is a four-week program built to slow that whole sequence down and give you back the vote.

Week by week you map the chain behind your urges, learn to see the choice point that always sits between the urge and the action, practice real ways to interrupt the automatic response instead of white-knuckling it, and then build one written plan for your own highest-risk moments. This is coaching and lived-experience education, not clinical care. It will not diagnose or treat you, it is not a substitute for treatment, and it does not promise that any moment will go perfectly or that willpower alone will carry you. What it does is build awareness and a plan, so a hard moment finds you prepared instead of surprised.

You leave holding a personal, written High-Risk Moment Plan you can carry in your wallet or on your phone: your top high-risk situations, your early warning signs, your interrupt, your pre-decided next moves, and the people you will call. In the Guided Cohort you build it alongside other men, with weekly live group coaching, accountability check-ins, community access, and structured implementation, coached by a man who has stood in those moments himself.

Learning Outcomes

What the learner should be able to understand, build, or execute.

01

Map the full chain behind an urge, from trigger and internal state through the choice point to the behavior and its payoff.

02

Identify your personal high-risk signature: the specific situations, people, places, times, and states that keep catching you.

03

Recognize the choice point that sits between an urge and an action, and catch its early warning signs further upstream.

04

Practice concrete ways to interrupt the automatic response, including a timed interrupt and pre-decided if-then swaps.

05

Assemble everything into one written High-Risk Moment Plan you can carry, pressure-test, share, and keep current.
